Martin Bayless is entering his fifth season with the Brevard College football program, serving as the General Manager/Senior Defensive Coordinator/Director of Academic Success.
Bayless is a formercornerback/safetywho played 13 seasons in theNational Football League(NFL). He playedcollege footballatBowling Green State University. After retiring from the NFL in 1998, he joined theBuffalo Billsas a Front Office Executive in 2000andfrom 2012 to 2016 held an Executive position with theNFLPA as Regional Director Player Affairs & Development /NFLPA CollegiateBowl Director of Football Operations.
Bayless was inducted into the Bowling Green football HOF in 1989.At Bowling Green, Martin Bayless added fourInterceptions in College Bowl games to raise his Career interception totals to 31 picksto become the NCAA DI career interceptions record-holder.
Bayless was born in Dayton Ohio to parents Stella M. Bayless & Charles E. Bayless Sr., and was raised with 5 older siblings and 1 younger sibling. Coach Bayless attended Dayton Belmont High School where he played the varsity sports of Basketball, Baseball, Football, Track. He made All City honors in both Basketball & Football, made all Districthonors in both Basketball & Football, and was as a member of the Boys Scouts of America.
