A Truly Exceptional Experience at The Edition ShanghaiI recently had the pleasure of staying at The Edition Shanghai, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience. This hotel truly stands out in every aspect.First and foremost, the service was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail of my stay was perfect. Their warmth and professionalism made me feel welcomed and well-cared-for throughout my visit. The location of the hotel is unbeatable. Situated in the heart of Shanghai, it offers unparalleled convenience for getting around the city. Whether you're here for business or leisure, you'll find it incredibly easy to navigate to any destination. One of the highlights of my stay was the dining experience. The hotel's restaurants are Michelin-starred, and the food was nothing short of spectacular. Each meal was a culinary delight, showcasing exquisite flavors and top-notch presentation. The Edition Shanghai is a gem that combines luxurious accommodations, outstanding service, and an unbeatable location. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay in Shanghai.

Great places that I have been to their roof top bar, Shanghai Tanvern, HIYA and stayed a night on new year eve. HIYA is a Japanese fusion restaurant, great view but the food is just okay and pricey. I like the Tanvern, foods are excellent with friendly waiter/waitress. They gave the wrong dessert to us, at the end it’s free for us. The roof top bar has the one of the best view to the bund if you are looking for. Cozy room and beautiful design although the view from my view was not very great.

This is specifically for the restaurant, Canton Disco. 🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺What a revelation this place was! Went on the recommendation of an Aussie ex-pat friend and it did not disappoint. It's a pretty sexy set up and for the bill perfectly for a Saturday date night out. Such a cool vibe, even if the soundtrack is true to form, pumping out 70's and 80's disco numbers. With so much visual candy is hard not to get distracted from the food but they sure nail this menu. We would hands down say this was the best dining experience we've had in our month in Shanghai. The service is exceptional with friendly, attentive staff, keen to discuss the menu and your needs or just leave you alone. A sure outlier when compared to every other experience we've had in China. All in all, 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Can't wait to go back.

Hotel is gone, worst service in the Japanese restaurant ever and then 1 hour to get a taxi…Service is so bad!!

Location is very good but hotel entrance is right in the middle of the pedestrian walk so you have to walk 100m where the car will drop you... Can't imagine how to cope with rainy days?... Service is overall good but when I asked for extra towels they brought them to me without folding them... And they must collect the dirty one before handing out new one... Lift lobby was so dark too...

The Edition Hotel in Shanghai stands out as one of the most impressive accommodations I've had the pleasure to experience in recent years. The aesthetics are captivating, with every nook and cranny exuding a unique design appeal. The Edition shines in many aspects: its strategic location, an assortment of food and beverage options, competitive pricing, and the commendable hospitality from the staff that truly sets it apart.A visit to the on-site restaurants, Hiya and the Tavern, is an absolute must-do. Their culinary offerings are nothing short of delectable, ensuring an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

I recently stayed at The Shanghai Edition and encountered several issues that detracted from my experience.Firstly, despite knowing that check-in was not until 3 pm, I arrived early hoping to get into my room sooner. I was informed that the previous occupant had requested a late checkout at 2 pm, making it impossible for housekeeping to prepare the room in an hour. An upgrade to a better room would have been a satisfactory solution, but instead, I was offered a downgrade. The room itself was disappointing. We had booked a premium experience but felt short-changed. The hotel’s design is another point of contention – the lighting is so dim that navigating the premises is difficult and potentially hazardous. The dining experiences varied greatly. Lunch at the Chinese restaurant was excellent; the staff were professional and attentive. However, the Japanese restaurant was a letdown. Several dishes featured in reviews were no longer available, and when we requested a scoop of vanilla ice cream, we were informed it would be charged as a full dessert – an unreasonable policy.Lastly, the hotel lacks a proper drive-through area for drop-offs. Guests must be dropped off on a nearby street as cars are not allowed into the hotel area, which is inconvenient.Overall, The Shanghai Edition did not meet my expectations for the price paid. Improvements in service, amenities, and customer accommodation are needed.

We stayed at the Shanghai Edition in march this year and had an amazing experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. Our suite was stylish and comfortable, with stunning views of the Shanghai skyline. The bed was super comfy, and the bathroom was luxurious and well-equipped. Breakfast at the hotel was a highlight with delicious food. The location is perfect for exploring Shanghai. Overall, the Shanghai Edition exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend it!

The hotel is on Nanjin Road in Shanghai. Great location. Matthew the hotel manager is exceptional! They have a dedicated focus to customer service. Nancy and Derrick, the waitress and bartender respectively, at Yen were awesome. Will definitely go back!!

An unusual hotel, friendly staff, a good view of the Bund from the higher floors. The hotel is located in the center on the promenade. A big complaint about not being able to go to the cafe at the top if you haven't reserved a place before, regardless of whether you are a hotel guest. So you don't have the opportunity to drink coffee and smoke a cigarette.Fortunately, a couple of unpleasant situations were resolved by manager Sam.Very kind and professional manager.

I came up to the 29th floor and while the views are nice the drinks are NOT. 168 RMB for the cheapest co*cktail with too much ice and flat ginger ale/ soda is a no go. When I told the staff it was flat they said “oh it’s not as bubbly as in america” —- it was Schweppes. 🤷♀️ not worth the price. Go to another rooftop bar like Hotel Indigo.

Simply the best place to stay in Shanghai. The Edition exudes style, comfort, and subtle luxury that is totally seamless. The room is highly comfortable and well appointed. The location is perfect for any visitors with direct access to Nanjing pedestrian street. Service is faultless at all touch points. High recommended.

Unfortunately, on the day I arrived I found a pair of used fake lashes in the bathroom from the previous people. Other than that, had an amazing stay. Staff is super kind and helpful and breakfast has an amazing quality. I recommend this stay.

Yes, hotel is modern and clean with nice decor. BUT for this price point the service is really not up to standard. We booked the Bund View Loft (4,500¥/ night) and check in is stated at 3pm and we arrived at 4pm, was told the room is not ready. The reception had no plans to make up for that and just repeating like a chatbot that the reason being they have many guests and the room is not ready. I couldn't believe I had to negotiate two cups of complimentary coffee for my mum and dad and seating for them to rest and wait for the room to be ready. The hotel is located inside a pedestrian-only walking area; we arrived by train but planned to take taxi to airport when leaving to the airport. So I asked the reception where to get on taxis. The receptionist almost without lifting her head and just replied coldly "At the east door. Basically you get on the taxi at where you get off". Did not expect such attitude and I decided to just look for the spot myself. Right after that the hotel mixed up our stored luggage with others and asked us to look for them ourselves in the storage room - which would be an understandable honest mistake in another situation but given multiple poor interactions with the staff I believe it is just another example of how undertrained the staff here are. Would not recommend.

Absolutely amazing stay!Great quality chocolate as welcome gift and then fruit brought to the room after housekeeping daily - don’t know if that’s for everyone or just for Bonvoy status holders, or because we left tips for housekeeping :)Best hotel breakfast I ever had. You have a buffet and then a la carte for hot dishes (all included in one price, not like the hotels in America where they charge you for each dish). Pool and rooftop bar were excellent. Great views of the Bund from up there, although drinks are a little overpriced in my opinion. Also was given a Bund view room on request!Location is right on Nanjing Pedestrian Road and next to Nanjing East Station! It really doesn’t get better!Only two minor downsides, yet they didn’t influence my overall experience:1) Minibar snacks and drinks are free (alcohol for charge), however during our 3-night stay we didn’t have it refilled and had to call for it to be done, even then the lady bringing the snacks only restocked some of them2) Some staff at the breakfast buffet couldn’t speak English (which is understandable) however they didn’t bother finding someone that could to help us

Above and beyond customer service!I left by mistake Apple AirPods one the room before checking out. After a quick email exchange, the Shanghai Edition team have already organised to courier it back to me in Hong Kong! Such amazing service (especially from Mia and Candy). Prompt and friendly. The hotel itself is really top class. The hotel is very chic and modern, and the rooms very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was exceptional and one of the better ones I’ve had (besides a small buffet offering, you have unlimited choice on their main menu to order).Overall, service was impeccable on all fronts (check-in, room service, concierge). One of the staff even offered to help order HeyTea for us as we couldn’t get the app to work.5/5.

Confused by the 3 star hotel rating by Google. Overall feel and price is 5 stars, but breakfast quality is sub-par.Staff were generally professional and friendly but it can be inconsistent so overall experience isn't as seamless. So I guess it's more 4 star feel from this perspective. The manager Chris was great and saved what could have been an unsatisfactory stay and caused us to leave earlier. Bell hops on 26th oct evening were very helpful and friendly. I wish I got their names to make tipping later easier. A suggestion would be staff to introduce themselves which would make the experience more personal and friendly too.One staff member was also particular helpful in finding an appropriate solution for our 6 seater taxi-thought outside the box to provide a seamless solution.Great view of the bund on the rooftop- need to book it in.Location is excellent for easy subway entrance and the bund/rock bund etc.Comfortable for a family stay

Stayed 4 nights at the Shanghai Edition and it exceeded our expectations! It might be worth noting that we’ve stayed in quite a few popular top hotels in Shanghai before our stay at Edition.Commendable service, with some inconsistencies at the front desk, but everything (or everyone) else more than made up for it. Special mention to Karen who was so helpful upon check in and Henry who very warmly helped with multiple requests throughout our entire stay (like receiving parcels, booking taxis, ordering food etc).As the hotel is located in the middle of the walking street, DiDis are unable to drop/pick up door to door. Though pick up is round the block, the staff at Edition always escorted us to the right exit(s) and even to our DiDi.We booked the room with a nice view of the bund and oriental pearl tower. In terms of housekeeping, apart from 1 occasion, everything was refreshed and replenished in a sufficient manner. Good to note that they now use large bottles of le labo (vs the small ones) — but I found a bag full of small le labo bottles in our room for us to take home so that was a pleasant surprise.Overall, a lovely stay with a personal touch :) made our last leg in Shanghai even more memorable!

Just 5 minutes walk from the bustling Nanjing Road, The Shanghai EDITION was more than we wish for!We stayed in the Pearl TV Room (on 17th floor) which is chic and luxurious with plush bed and a living area inviting you to sink in after a day of exploring. look out the window, and witness the iconic Shanghai skyline right from your bed.And the bathroom? double vanity, luxurious soaking tub, and exclusive Le Labo amenities. It takes pampering to a whole new level. To top it all off, breakfast was a delightful fusion of Western and Shanghainese options.Downside: free flow mini bar, and while the amenities was adequate, sadly it wasn’t replenished everyday. For DiDi pick up, it is right beside Shanghai Tavern. So if you’re having heavy luggages, best to get the staff to help.

Nice rooftop bar with great views over The Bund to Pudong. However, drinks are expensive and higher than Dubai & London EDITION without the atmosphere or service to match.

Very pretty hotel but expensive for what it is and service is average. The amenities are good but the room walls are very thin. We were at the end of the hallway and was woken up in the morning by the staff entering / exiting the service stairs / door which was next to our room. The hotel was willing to change our room to one in the middle of the hallway next to the elevators instead. We went to the punch bar and waited 15 minutes for 2 drinks when it was empty. They didn’t even serve us water. Overall many areas for improvement.
